KERALA RED RICE

The reddish brown colour of Kerala red rice comes from parboiling. Parboiling is a process, where rough rice is steeped in cold or warm water, heated with steam under pressure, or in boiling water, to gelatinize starch, with minimum grain swelling, followed by slow drying. This process loosens the outer covering hull. Nutrition is retained, and rice becomes gluten free.


BBT Raw Broken Rice

Broken rice is fragments of rice grains, broken in the field during drying, transport and milling. It is as nutritious as whole rice, and has the same properties. It cooks faster and uses less fuel.
